Sleep
After I had Brayden, I feel like both him and I slept ALL the time. I remember being so tired and I think it was more from stress than anything else because both Bray and I were trying to hard to get the breastfeeding thing down and we just couldnt. This time around, Paytin sleeps a lot less than Brayden and will wake herself up for feedings like she is supposed too. Every 2-3 hours, we have our feeding date, whether its during the day or night. Sometimes its more frequent, all when she wants too. But I haven't felt super exhausted...well, I hadn't, until the last couple of days. I think the heat combined with going on a couple weeks of little sleep now has made me SO sleepy! I fell asleep in the recliner while feeding her for the first time a couple nights ago (which is why I sit there at night because she can't move an inch) and then right now, dozed on the couch with her for about half an hour while Brayden was watching a show. I have to admit, I have not been napping when they nap, at least not on a regular basis, just too much to do, and we've been going to sleep LATE, like later than we did when we didn't have kids! For some reason I just had it in my mind that it didnt make sense to go to sleep early because I would have to get up another time in the night. Then last night I tried to go to sleep early and BOTH kids kept getting me up :). It's nothing to complain about, just something to write down for memories sake. As I write this Brayden is somewhat resting on the floor playing with toys, and Paytin is passed out asleep on my chest :)

Black and White
Paytin Check Up
Yesterday Paytin and I went to her weight re-check. The friday after her birth she weighed in at 5 lbs 14.5 ounces and the doctor wanted to see her in another week (it was actually almost 2 weeks) to do a weight re-check and make sure she was putting on the weight. Mike and I both took guesses on what she would weigh. Mike guessed 6/2 and I guessed 6/4. Man oh man was I surprised when they weighed her and she weighed in at 6 lbs 14.5 ounces! She gained one pound exactly! She's been eating great, and even though she is a finicky eater (she varies GREATLY in how long/how much she wants to eat/how long in between each feeding), apparently she's getting what she needs! She also grew in length quite a bit, 1 and 7/8 inches growth, and an even 1 inch of growth in her head! I never pay too much attention to the "percentages" but for baby book sake, Paytin's weight is now just above the 5th percentile, her head is the 25th, and her length is the 50th. We've just got a skinny, long little lady on our hands!
Bless You!
Today's Braydenism brings a funny question to my mind; "Do you say 'Bless You' to Jesus if he sneezes?"
I was reading him a story from his Preschool Bible (which I decided after reading this story today, that we're going to start in the beginning and read from the beginning story all the way through it a little before each nap time) and it was the one where John the Baptist is baptizing Jesus, in the middle of it somewhere, I sneezed while reading it. After I was done, and closing the book, Brayden pointed at Jesus and at John and looked at me and asked "Who achoo'd?" I couldn't stop laughing! At least I know he was really listening!
